mehro, The Walters, and half•alive Bring the Hollywood Palladium to Life on Persona World Tour
Written by: Ephney Tsai
As part of half•alive's Persona World Tour, the band brought along opening acts mehro and The Walters to an unforgettable night at the Hollywood Palladium. Though not completely sold out, the historic venue was filled with passionate fans ready to enjoy a night of great music.
Of the trio of artists, mehro was the first to perform. Sharing that he had attended prom at this very venue before, the singer showed off his youthful humor and musical talent with his short but sweet set. Performing slower ballad songs and more upbeat rock songs, the singer also made time to interact with the crowd, bringing up a giant QR code to sign up for his newsletter, recording a birthday video for his mom, and more. Also expressing his gratitude constantly, he made sure to shout out the next two acts several times throughout his set.
After mehro left the stage, it was time for The Walters. The band performed songs old and new, slowly making their way through their discography. Luke sang an impromptu song at one point, and the band breezed through their set with a mix of laid-back humor and charm, and musical expertise. Aside from their smooth listens and catchy tunes, the band also left the crowd speechless with their "impressive" dance moves. The band kept up their playfulness the whole set, but also took some time for sentimentality as they introduced the song that brought the band back together by going TikTok viral, "I Love You So." Soon after, The Walters' time on stage was over. Though, it wouldn't be the last time the audience saw Luke for the night.
A few moments later, it was finally time for the main headliner of the night to make their way onstage. half•alive's set was energetic, versatile, amusing, and a true testament of their talent. half•alive prepared unreleased music to perform, and there was even a special acoustic medley portion prepared. Though the music was simple, the acoustic set really highlighted their vocals and talent as it put a stronger emphasis on their voices. Bringing out The Walters' Luke for "R.I.P.," half•alive kept the crowd alive all the way through to the end of the show. Despite two opening acts and a long set from the headliner, the crowd remained energized and passionate, singing, cheering, and swaying along with the music all the way through the last song.
The night at the Hollywood Palladium was the perfect way to end the U.S. leg of the Persona World Tour. Each of the three artists showed off their musical colors and personas, creating unforgettable memories for each other and their fans.
