Rookie Kpop Girl Group HITGS Talks Debut and More at KCON LA 2025

Written by Ephney Tsai

Just after their performances on the event convention stage, rising 5th generation Kpop girl group HITGS prepared to make their official KCON LA 2025 main stage debut. Ahead of the evening's concert, we spoke with the five members backstage as they reflected on their journey so far and their experience meeting international fans in LA.

Formerly known as Project H 2025, the five members—VV, Seojin, Seohee, Hyerin, and Iyoo—made their official debut with the single "SOURPATCH" off their first album, Things We Love : H. With that being their first introduction to being idols, they humbly shared that they had a lot of support from their team and fans to make it possible. "A lot of people helped us create this debut album, and the music video as well. So, so much effort had gone into the music video making, so we felt a high sense of achievement. It felt very fruitful that all these efforts were combined all together to create the music video. [Aside from the music video], we found that all five of us have a very positive approach that we shared during this music making process, so we are very happy about it," Seojin shared.

Now, just months after their debut, they've come back with the song "CHARIZZMA," and have made their overseas debut at KCON LA 2025. "The newest song is a combination of five individual girls' appeal and charms," Seohee began. "The track is a reflection of our individual charms, so we really hope any listeners will be able to feel HITGS's charms and appeal that way. Also, the song's release was done back during the summertime, so because summer is so hot and it's hard to bear, we hoped it would be a refreshing type of a breeze that could cool listeners down during the summer."

Sharing their excitement for their KCON mainstage performance, Hyerin wrapped up with a few final words of gratitude and endearment. "When we came to LA, we went to Universal Studios, so that was a very fun experience that we had and that we cherish," Hyerin shared. "Then, we came to KCON. We had a showcase performance stage yesterday, and we received such good feedback and response from the enthusiastic audiences. We really liked that energy, and we were very happy to see that vibe. KCON is one of the first places where we could actually see our fans in real life, in person, so we just feel very privileged and happy to have that opportunity here."
